About Train Travel to Hua Hin
This journey can either be completed during daylight hours on the sprinter train (Train #40) departing at 10:40, or on one of the afternoon or early evening departures leaving before 21:00, or one of the late night departures leaving from Surat Thani after 23:00.

If you plan to travel from Koh Samui or Koh Phangan to Hua Hin by train direct then we recommend taking one of the late evening departures after 23:00. It takes a few hours to reach Surat Thani Train Station from either Koh Samui or Koh Phangan, and when you arrive at Surat Thani Train Station there is a very good outside restaurant near to the 7-Eleven on the main road. The other advantage of taking one of the departures after 23:00 is that the trains will arrive after 06:00 when it starts to get light and places will open to have breakfast whilst you wait to check in to a hotel.

If you are staying in Koh Samui, Koh Tao or Koh Phangan you can take the bus and boat service directly to Surat Thani Train Station. The railway station in Hua Hin is fairly near the beach and the centre of the city. A popular Night Market area is a short walk from Hua Hin Train Station which is an area with plenty of affordable hotels.
