1 July 2020: A total of 46 of the 58 regular long distance train services in Thailand came back into operation today following a suspension of all long distance services in April 2020. A number of restrictions remain, but the services are otherwise operating normally:
- Ticket sales are limited to 50% of seat capacity.
- Passengers are required to wear face masks.
- Drinks and food are not allowed to be sold on the train either by employees or contractors of the State Railways of Thailand or by independent vendors.
Northbound Northern Line Train Services
All 5 regular train services from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are now operating:
Southbound Northern Line Train Services
All 5 regular train services from Chiang Mai to Bangkok are now also operating:
Southbound Southern Line Train Services
9 out of the 12 regular long distance services travelling South from Bangkok are now operating. All the services listed below stop at Hua Hin, Chumphon and Surat Thani before reaching their final destination.
