Covid-19 Update: From the 15th January a total of 42 Thailand Train services have been suspended

15 January 2021: A total of 42 scheduled train services in Thailand have now been suspended in response to an outbreak of covid-19 infections in Thailand. The services include:

  • All 12 special tourism trains.
  • 30 long distance train services across all major railway lines.

It is still possible to travel around Thailand by train although depending upon where you are travelling from and to you may need to undergo quarantine on arrival and/or undergo health checks. See below for the revised long distance train timetables on all major train lines. This revised timetable will now be in operation until further notice.

Northbound Northern Line Train Services


Only 2 regular train services a day from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are now operating:
