All the other trains pass through the most scenic sections of the North Eastern Train line at night and you will see nothing. If you are travelling by train from Ubon Ratchathani to Bangkok because you enjoy train travel then consider taking Train #72 or Train #136 and forgo comfort for the great views on route.
