LUXURY HOTELS
Centara Hotel Hat Yai
- Walking distance from Station: 550 metres
- Star Rating: 3.5 Star
Probably the best hotel in town and one of the largest with 237 guest rooms, 4 restaurants, 1 bar, sauna, swimming pool, fitness room, spa and substantial conferencing facilities. Centara is a well known luxury hotel brand and this branch lives up to that reputation.

The rooms have everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The price, though, is a lot lower than you would pay for a Centara hotel in other towns further north in Thailand; rooms at a branch of the Centara hotel chain in Bangkok will cost you at least double. If you are in Hat Yai consider taking advantage of the opportunity to stay at a Centara hotel for an affordable price.

MID RANGE HOTELS
Red Planet Hotel Hat Yai
- Walking distance from Station: 500 metres
- Star Rating: 3 Star
This used to be a Tune hotel and those familiar with the brand will recognise the distinctive space saving room layout. The Red Planet is in the 3 star sector of the hotel market, which means very few hotel facilities, but nicely furnished rooms at an affordable price.
This hotel is no exception: whilst it has no restaurant or fitness centre, the rooms come with free WiFi, satellite TV on a flat screen LCD TV, modern decor, in room safe, smart compact en-suite bathroom and a desk. Good service. Perfect place for an overnight stay in a comfortable room at a good price.

BUDGET HOTELS
Cathy Guesthouse
- Walking distance from Station: 280 metres
- Star Rating: 1.5 Star
This is one of the last true ‘old-school’ backpacker guest houses left in Thailand. They filmed the scene from The Beach where Daffy (Robert Carlyle) meets Richard (Leonardo Di Caprio) and tells him about the island. The rooms are clean and function but sparse. White walls, metal beds, wall fans and no furniture.
If you are looking for a cheap place in Hat Yai this is the one to come to. Many long term travellers in Asia always come here. They have a cheap restaurant, some internet terminals and a good budget travel agent inside. It is handy and reliable, and a lesser visited tourist attraction in its own right because they filmed part of The Beach here.
