Prachuap Khiri Khan is an Attractive Train Station

Prachuap Khiri Khan Train Station is smaller and less visited than Hua Hin Train Station, which is slightly over an hour further north on Thailand’s Southern Railway Line. Nonetheless, this is a pretty station. The station building itself is constructed mostly of wood and painted biege and red to resemble the style of railway station being constructed in the 1920s. There are only a few of this style of station remaining. Prachuap Khiri Khan is a peaceful town and this makes a great setting for this train station which has well kept planting around the station building and a pond with koi carp. The train station adds tremendously to the atmosphere of the laid back holiday town, and arriving here by train is a popular option for holiday makers.

Trains from Prachuap Khiri Khan to Surat Thani

To arrive in time to meet direct connections from the Train Station to Koh Samui or Koh Phangan consider booking a sleeper seat Train #85 departing at 02:49. Train #85 has 1st and 2nd Class air-conditioned seats. Train #43 is a fast service with a convenient departure time of 13:40, but it arrives at 18:50 which is too late to make a connection on the same day to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Koh Tao unless you take the Night Boat. We do not recommend the Night Boat for any travelling with children, it is uncomfortable and noisy, with young travellers doing what young travellers should do which is to enjoy themselves.
