About Don Mueang Airport
Don Mueang Airport is the oldest airport in South East Asia opening for use by military aircraft in 1914 and commercial flights in 1924. Anyone travelling on an international flight to Bangkok before Suvarnabhumi Airport opened in 2006 will have arrived into Don Mueang Airport which at that time was Bangkok’s only international airport.
After briefly closing in 2006 Don Mueang Airport has had a major refurbishment and now has two terminal buildings: Terminal 1 (international flights) and Terminal 2 (domestic flights). The check-in areas of the two terminal buildings are within easy walking distance of each other. Both terminal buildings feature lots of shops and restaurants, although they tend to be be a lot more expensive than comparable outlets in Bangkok city centre.

Don Mueang Airport Railway Station is connected to Don Mueang Airport by an elevated walkway which you can access via stairs leading up from Platform 1 of the railway station. At the end of the walkway follow the signs up another flight of stair and then take the elevator up to the airport itself. The elevator takes you to the area with the check-in desks in Terminal 1. For domestic flights turn left after exiting the elevator and walk to Terminal 2.
