Chumphon Railway Station
Chumphon Train Station is located in the centre of Chumphon Town on Thailand’s Southern Line which runs from Bangkok to border with Malaysia via Surat Thani and Hat Yai. From Hat Yai there is a branch line to Padang Besar with the main line continuing onto Sungai Kolok, which is the border crossing closest to the town of Kota Bharu.

Chumphon is a small city and this is a small train station with few facilities other a left luggage service, a small shop and a toilet. Nearby to the station there is a great restaurant called Papa Seafood where many travellers choose to wait for late night departure. A cheaper option for great food and drink is to walk to the end of the station approach road and down the Krumluang Chumphon Road. On the left hand side of the Krumluang Chumphon Road there are some very good Thai food stalls selling authentic Southern Thai Food. The main reason foreign visitors come to Chumphon train station is that it is the closest train station to the ferry piers for services to and from Koh Tao.
