About Travel to Hua Hin
Hua Hin is a unique laid back resort town with slightly over 60,000 permanent residents living in the central part of the city. Hua Hin is quite different to other popular beach destinations in Thailand. It is not brash and loud like Pattaya or Phuket, or isolated with lots of backpackers like Koh Phangan or Koh Phayam. Instead, Hua Hin tends to attract slightly older holiday makers, many who stay for months at a time, and also a lot of Thai visitors, particularly at the weekend from Bangkok, which is a relatively short distance away. Hua Hin has got a lot going for it as a holiday destination. The city centre beach stretches nearly 6 km south offering visitors prepared to walk for a while out of the busy zone a nearly deserted stretch of white sand to enjoy. Hua Hin also has great amenities in terms of a wide range of hotels, restaurants and bars, as well as lots of shops, including some large shopping centres. In some ways Hua Hin is similar to resort towns in Spain with two large water parks on the edge of Hua Hin and a well maintained golf course.

For visitors arriving in Hua Hin by train an easy option is to stay in one of the great value hotels on the Sa Song Road, such as the reliable Chaba Chalet, which is only 300 metres walking distance from Hua Hin Railway Station. A sort walk further down the Sa Song Road is an excellent and very lively night market, which features a cluster of food stalls selling inexpensive high quality seafood. We recommend Duang Jai Seafood, although the other food stalls nearby are very similar.
