About Travel to Hua Hin
Hua Hin is well known for its large and expensive beach side hotels and resorts, and its relatively expensive sea front fish restaurants. However, less well known are the excellent value for money small hotels and seafood market stalls which are conveniently located for people travelling by train within easy walking distance of Hua Hin Railway Station. For bargain accommodation options near the Railway Station walk the short distance from the railway station to the Sa Song Road. Our recommended budget hotel is the Chaba Chalet, which is only 300 metres walking distance from Hua Hin Railway Station, where large air-conditioned rooms with cable TV cost from around 600 THB per night depending upon the season.
For somewhere good, but cheap, to eat near Hua Hin Railway Station, we recommend that you make your way to the night market on the Dechanuchit Alley, which is 550 metres walking distance from the train station. The night market starts from around 18:00 every night and as well as clothes and souvenir stalls, the night market also has some great outdoor food stalls selling inexpensive Thai seafood dishes. The best of the food stalls are located on the intersection of the Sa Song Road and Dechanuchit Alley where you can expect to pay 150 to 250 THB per plate of excellent fresh seafood.
