Bus from Surat Thani to Khao Sok National Park

Bus services to Khao Sok National Park depart from a car park located next to Surat Thani Train Station. It’s on the left hand side as you exit the ticket hall. It’s easy to recognise as there is a small clock tower inside the car park as well as a row of travel agents and cafes, most notably Wut Travel.

What most travellers do on arrival at Surat Thani Train Station is to go and wait at one of the cafes in the car park for their connecting bus service to depart. There are lots of travel agency and transport company staff on duty in this area who will be able to direct you to your connecting bus service if you show them your ticket.

Arrival in Khao Sok National Park

The arrival point for bus services from Surat Thani Railway Station to Khao Sok National Park is close to the western entrance to the park.

The western entrance to Khao Sok National Park is a land based entrance located near a small village, commonly referred to as Khao Sok Village. Khao Sok Village has a fairly wide range of hotels and hostels, some more luxurious than others. It also has a wide range of restaurants and cafes. Many visitors to Khao Sok National Park choose to stay overnight in Khao Sok Village, rather than in the park itself, because the facilities are better.

Cheow Lan Lake

Travellers wishing to visit the park’s 165 square kilometre man made lake (Cheow Lan Lake) need to travel to the eastern entrance to Khao Sok National Park, which is by wooden boat from Ratchaprapha Pier.

By road it’s 63 km from the western entrance to the park to Ratchaprapha Pier. Numerous local transport operators provide taxi and shared minivan services from Khao Sok Village to the eastern entrance boat pier. We recommend enquiring locally with a hotel or a travel agent in Khao Sok Village to arrange a minivan ticket or book a taxi to Ratchaprapha Pier.
