About Train Travel from Lopburi to Bangkok
The train journey from Lopburi to Bangkok takes less than 2 hours on one of the faster trains. Depending upon where your final destination is, you may be able to make your journey even shorter by alighting from the train before you reach Bangkok Hua Lamphong Train Station, which is at the very southern end of Thailand’s Northern Railway line. For destinations towards the northern edge of Bangkok you wish to consider alighting the train at Don Mueang Airport Railway Station. Don Mueang Airport is on the SRT Dark read commuter line which travels to smaller train stations in the north of the city, such as Lak Si, Bang Khen and Chatuchak, which the intercity trains do not stop at.

The next major train station in Bangkok after Don Mueang Airport Railway Station (which intercity trains stop at) is Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal. Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal is connected to the MRT Blue Line. The MRT Blue Line is an underground train which follows a circular route through the centre of Bangkok and connects with the BTS (over head suburban rapid service), the Airport Link (to Suvarnabhumi Airport) and the Charo Phraya Express Boat service. Popular stops on the MRT Blue Line include Sukhumvit, Silom and Wat Mangkorn. For travel to most destinations in Central Bangkok it’s generally quicker to alight from the train at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal and to continue your journey on the MRT Blue Line, as train services often travel very slowly through Bangkok from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Hua Lamphong Railway Station.
