Trang is a pleasant laid back town in the far South of Thailand with around 60,000 permanent residents.
About Trang Town
Trang Town itself is notable for three things: a wide range of old buildings in the town centre, its food, and its distinctive yellow coloured early 20th Century Christian church. The liveliest part of the city is in the area close to the railway station and if you plan to stay overnight in Trang there are several good hotels used to catering to foreign visitors within easy walking distance of the railway station.

Trang itself isn’t on the coast and as a consequence it’s not a popular tourist destination in its own right.
Travel from Trang to Koh Kradan and Koh Muk
The main reason why most foreign tourists come to Trang is because they are travelling onto one of the islands on West Coast of Thailand, in particular Koh Ngai. Koh Kradan, Koh Muk, and Koh Libong. You can travel direct from Trang Railway Station to all 4 of these popular islands if you book your connection in advance. The premier transport operator on these routes is King Travel. The first stage of the journey with King Travel to either Koh Ngai. Koh Kradan, Koh Muk, or Koh Libong is a 44 km journey by road to Khuan Tung Ku Pier where passenger than transfer to a local boat for the sea crossing.
