About Travel to Ratchaburi
Ratchaburi is the location of Thailand’s most famous floating market, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, and two other floating markets which are less busy: Amphawa Floating Market and Tha Kha Floating Market.
Floating Markets in Ratachaburi
By the 1960s floating markets, which once existed throughout Central Thailand, had largely disappeared in favour of land based market selling goods transported by road. Ratchaburi’s floating markets were re-established in the 1970s and 1980s as tourist attractions and, although picturesque, the cost of boat tours and the goods on sale are relatively high. Nonetheless, a visit to one of Ratchaburi’s floating markets is lots of fun and popular with both foreign and domestic tourists.

Major Temple in Ratchaburi
Ratchaburi has a lot more of interest than simply floating markets, although few foreign tourists visit the province’s other attractions. Within Ratchaburi Town the main point of interest is Wat Mahathat Worawihan. Wat Mahathat Worawihan was established at some point during the 10th or 11th Centuries during a period of rule by the Khmer Empire. The central features of this temple are its large Khmer style prang towers.
Other Attractions in Ratchaburi
