About travel to Hua Hin
Hua Hin is a seaside town in the Southern Region of Thailand which has a very different feel to it than other major tourist destinations in Thailand. The 5 km long beach in Hua Hin city centre is considerably better than than the beach in Pattaya, and the city has almost no nightlife whatsoever in comparison to Pattaya or Patong in Phuket.
The type of people who visit Hua Hin are also for the greater part different to those people who choose to holiday on Pattaya or Phuket. Most of the visitors are Thai tourists, for whom it’s not far to travel for weekend breaks, and the foreign visitors tend to be older. In particular Hua Hin is very popular with Scaninavian tourists, many of whom stay several months of the year.

Because of the absence of noisy bars and clubs, Hua Hin is sometimes characterised as being ‘boring’. If late night bars and clubs are the main thing you are coming to Thaiand for then that’s probably correct. However, Hua Hin has got lots of things going for it that make it the destination of choice for a significant number of domestic and foreign tourists.
The long beach swimming beach in Hua Hin, which is probably the best beach within a 4 hour drive of Bangkok, is a major draw. Another thing which Hua Hin has going for it is its range of good quality facilities. Hua Hin has lots and lots of hotels at different price points, most of which represent excellent value for money compared to the same types of hotels in other seaside towns in Thailand. The range of restaurants in Hua Hin is also very wide. Pretty much every type of international cuisine is served in Hua Hua, although what the town is most famous for its seafood restaurants, the most famous of which are built on disused fishing piers on the Nares Damri Road in the centre of Hua Hin.
