However, the journey by train from Bangkok (or Hua Hin) to Chumphon is 2 to 3 hours shorter than the train journey to Surat Thani, which is located 167 km by rail to the south of Chumphon.

Prior to that they operated services mainly connecting Koh Kood, Koh Mak, and Koh Chang with Bangkok, Pattaya, and a number of cities in Cambodia.

Boonsiri High Speed Ferries operates the same type of high speed catamaran ferries as the Lomprayah High Speed Company, and the customer experience offered by the two companies is very similar. One significant difference is that the two services depart from different ferry piers in Chumphon and arrive at different ferry piers in Koh Samui.
