Khao Sok National Park covers an area of 739 square kilometres, of which 165 square kilometres is taken up the man made Cheow Lan Lake. Khao Sok National Park has a rich diversity of plants, tree, animals, insects, fish and birds. There are wild tigers in the park as well as leopards, monkeys and elephants amongst other animals. The park is part of a bigger forest complex which covers over 5,000 square kilometres which gives ample room for the larger mammals to roam. The hiking options are almost limitless, with steep sided limestone hills creating spectacular views. Navigation in dense forests like these is difficult so making use of a guide or joining a tour is recommended.
