About Travel to Koh Phi Phi
To start the journey from Surat Thani Railway Station to Koh Phi Phi the first thing you need to do is to check in for your journey at the Phantip Office which is located in car park in front of the station. If you are arriving by train then the car park is to the left hand side of the main ticket hall as you are exiting the station. There is a row of cafes and travel agencies here. Staff from the Phantip Office and the other adjacent travel agencies are always waiting on the platform to direct people to the check in point for Phantip service.

After you have checked in the first stage of the journey is by bus to Klong Jilard Pier in Krabi. This is a journey by road of 164 km which should take about 2 hours. There will be no comfort breaks during the bus journey from Surat Thani to the pier in Krabi Province as this is a relatively short journey.

At Klong Jilard Pier passengers transfer to the Chaokoh ferry which takes 90 minutes to 2 hours to reach Koh Phi Phi. The ferry has indoor seating and a top deck where many passengers prefer to sit, as well as a toilet and a small shop selling drinking and snacks. The arrival point in Koh Phi Phi is Tonsai Pier, which is located in Tonsai Village. Tonsai Village is the busiest area on Koh Phi Phi and where most visitors stay. If you want to stay somewhere else on the island then there are plenty of taxi boats available at Tonsai Pier for onward travel.
