Lampang Train Station
Lampang Railway Station is one of Thailand’s oldest train stations. The main station building is an attractive two-storey building constructed in 1915. There is also a steam locomotive parked in front of the entrance to the station.
Lampang Railway Station has 2 platforms, 6 tracks and 12 trains passing through every day:
- 5 trains a day running each way on the Bangkok to Chiang Mai route.
- 1 train a day running each way on the Nakhon Sawan to Chiang Mai route.
Facilities at Lampang Station
Nakhon Lampang Railway Station has a small range of facilities: a toilet and a shop, both on Platform 1. There is no left luggage office or service at Nakhon Lampang Railway Station. There are, however, several restaurants and mobile stalls (including one which sells coffee) along the approach road to the station and in the parking area in front of the station.
Buying Tickets at the Station
The ticket office is located inside the main station building on the right hand side.
The ticket office is normally open from about 01:30 to 20:30 every day. You can generally turn up at the station and buy a 3rd Class ticket on the day the train is due to leave. For other ticket types, particularly 2nd and 1st Class Sleeper seats, you often need to book a day or more in advance as these tickets tend to sell out before the day of travel.
